This case study explores the life history of an 18-year-old high school student, pregnant and lives in Bulakan, Bulacan, a rural area in the Philippines. This research was conducted qualitatively and based on semi-structured interviews with the participants, as well as video documentation that focused on the subject’s early motherhood narrative. The research applied Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory, which examines the social and physical environments that impact a person, emphasizing their development. The results suggest that the young childbearing female faced numerous significant challenges in relation to her pregnancy, such as poor prenatal healthcare, chronic emotional neglect, entrenched poverty, and lack of sex education.
